Red Cap was formed in 2003 out of a jam session between old friends. They all have been playing music for 20+ years, each branching out into different styles of music including Rock, Southern Rock, Country, Punk, Blues and Christian music.
Joel Mora began playing guitar at an early age and switched to the drums in his early twenties.
Charlie Rollo plays electric guitar, bass guitar and piano. He has been singing for over twenty years and is also a songwriter.
J Rivera plays electric guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, lap steel harp and drums. He is also a songwriter.
Their musical influences are very eclectic and run all over the music map - R.E.M, Elton John, Lucinda Williams, Lazy Lester, The Clash, Hank Williams, Metallica, Cliff Burton, Jimmi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Donald "Duck" Dunn, Buddy Holly, Michael Stipe, John Prine, Willie, Waylon, the Boys, Jerry Jeff Walker, Bon Scott, Joe Walsh, The Neville Brothers and The Van Zant Brothers - just to name a few.
They recently released their first CD called “Light of Day”. All of the songs are originals inspired by their life experiences and musical influences.
